Incoming Call Manager™ enables your subscribers to personalize and structure the
way they receive calls. By comparing incoming calls to a subscriber's
contact list in CommPortal™, as well as a simple,
configurable rule-set, Incoming Call Manager offers an unprecedented
degree of call flexibility.
When an incoming call first arrives, it is intercepted by
Incoming Call Manager. Based on the rules specified by the subscriber, which may
involve the time of day, the subscriber's schedule, the calling number, or
other conditions, Incoming Call Manager performs actions on the call. These may
include:
- playing a custom ringback tone to callers while the subscriber's phone is ringing
- alerting the subscriber with a distinctive ring tone based on the rule or contact
- rejecting the call with an announcement to the caller
- challenging the caller with a request to record an introduction
- forwarding the call to voicemail, a telephone (either one of the
subscriber's devices or another telephone), or a Find Me Follow Me pattern of personal
destinations to call in sequence or simultaneously
- configuring multiple alternate profiles that can be easily selected
via CommPortal or
CommAssistant (for example due to holidays, changes in
daily schedule, or location).
Incoming Call Manager presents your subscribers with a rich user interface, tightly integrated
with other services via MetaSphere CommPortal as well as shortcuts for click-to-dial and
frequently-used features (for example Do Not Disturb) via MetaSphere CommAssistant.
