LONDON, September 12, 2013 – Today Swedish operator Net1 announced the deployment of Metaswitch Session Border Controllers to secure the delivery of enhanced VoIP services.
Net1 delivers mobile broadband, IP telephony and machine-to-machine solutions to government, business and residential subscribers. It plans to expand the geographic reach of its voice services soon, a move that will require more performance, reliability and protection from its session border controllers. That's where Perimeta comes in.
Perimeta is the most flexible SBC on the market today and it is the first session border controller architected for network functions virtualization (NFV). With flexible options for integrated or distributed signaling and media deployments, Perimeta can scale these distinct components independently, dramatically reducing deployment costs as network grow and services expand.
Operators need SBCs to provide rock solid security in addition to flexibility. Perimeta's credentials here are undisputable; performance and protection capabilities have been independently tested and verified, which should give operators piece of mind. Perimeta's latest test results from Miercom are available in this report: http://www.metaswitch.com/download-miercom-perimeta-report.
“Perimeta performs at a very high capacity and offers excellent protection,” said Peter Borgfors, chief technology officer at Net1. “This is exactly what we require to ensure the delivery of quality services to our current and future customers.”
“Net1 is a young operator with ambitious plans,” said Nicholas Critchell, regional sales director at Metaswitch. “As traffic and user numbers grow, Perimeta will be able to cope easily with peak requirements and the need for added scale and flexibility.”
